Womb Massage

What is Womb Massage?

Womb massage is a gentle yet powerful abdominal therapy that supports the physical, emotional and energetic health of the reproductive and digestive systems. This deeply restorative treatment helps you reconnect with your body and womb centre, whether you are experiencing menstrual pain, irregular cycles, digestive discomfort or are on a fertility or journey or a survivor of trauma.

Through soft, rhythmic touch around the abdomen, lower back and sacral area, womb massage encourages circulation, eases tension and helps to realign the womb and pelvic organs. It also supports the release of emotional holding and invites a deeper sense of connection and embodiment.

“The womb is not a place to store fear and pain, the womb is to create and give birth to life.”

Perhaps one of these statements speaks to you?
• Inability to conceive
• Unexplained heavy or painful periods
• Birth trauma (difficult birth)
• IBD
• Endometriosis, fibroids, cysts.
• Sciatica or lower back pain
• Anxiety/depression
• Hysterectomy
• Grief from miscarriage
• Abortion guilt/shame
• Body shame
• PTSD
• Sex and control issues
• Sexual abuse and/or domestic violence
• Relationship problems
• Menopausal difficulties

Considering these issues, we may begin to see why our emotional lives can have a direct effect on our wombs or womb spaces.

How can womb massage help?
Womb healing massage looks at the womb as an energy centre, it is a holistic therapy, meaning that the whole body and emotional wellbeing of each individual woman is taken into account. Stress can be held in the body and as women this can cause any of the problems listed above and many more.

A womb massage is a slow and gentle massage that physically works in a similar way to deep tissue massage and energetically to reiki by applying precise massage movements at energy centres around the womb space to unlock and unblock areas of stored or stagnant energy. This can be felt by the therapist as hard or lumpy tissue and can be felt by the client as an emotional, physical or energetic release.

The lower back and the abdominal area are both worked on during this therapy, however, care and consent are of most importance especially when treating women who are seeking healing for trauma.

Womb massage is suitable for all stages of life—from menarche to menopause—and can be tailored to your individual needs. It’s particularly supportive for those experiencing painful periods, trauma, fertility challenges, postnatal healing or simply wishing to reconnect with their body in a more conscious and compassionate way.

What to Expect

Each session lasts around 90 to 120 minutes and includes:
• A grounding herbal tea on arrival
• Time to share your intention or what brings you to the treatment
• A detailed holistic approach, incorporating your physical and emotional symptoms.
• Gentle, nurturing abdominal and sacral massage
• Aftercare guidance and space to rest and reflect

I advise that a womb healing therapy consists of at least three separate treatments. The first would be on the front of the body, the second on the back and the third to work over both areas, concentrating on the required areas of healing and places of tension.

Women who are looking to better manage chronic symptoms, the recommended treatment would be every month and would be worked around their menstrual cycle for 4 to 6 months.

For women trying to conceive, this would be worked around the menstrual cycle and would be a monthly appointment for the minimum of 6 months.

After Care
You may feel emotional after a womb massage, this is not unusual and as part of the treatment I am available to offer support or answer any concerns or questions that you may have. It is important to look after yourself after treatment, drink plenty of spring water and nourishing food.  Avoid alcohol and caffeine for 24 hours.
